SMS Commander is and Android application which allows users to obtain information from their phone by sending a list of commands with passwords from another phone via SMS. These are for situations where the user forgot their phone somewhere or doesn’t have access to the phone at any time while in vacation, etc and can check their information from another friend’s phone. When the commands are received, they are decoded and the command is executed. An example of information that can be obtained via SMS is:
- .getLocation -Receive a link to Google Maps of your phone’s location
- .getMissedCalls [integer HowMany] – get a list of your missed calls.
- .getOutgoingCalls [integer HowMany] – get a list of outgoing calls made from your phone.
- .getIncomingCalls [integer HowMany] – get a list of incoming calls made to your phone.
- .getContact [Contact Name] – get the phone number of the listed contact from your phone.
Other commands that can be setup include:
- .setForward [Phone #] -Set phone to notify and forward missed calls and texts to your friend’s phone.
- .endForward – end the .setForward command mode.
- .sendSMS [phone #] [message] – send a SMS message from your phone with the given info.
- .sendSms byContact [Contact Name] [message] – same as above to refer to a contact name from your phone.
- .findMe -Set your phone to full volume so you can call and find it
- .setAirplaneMode – set your phone in airplane mode so no calls or SMS messages can be received.
- .setLock -Lock your phone when you’re away.
- .silence – silence your phone.
- .vibrate – place your phone in vibrate mode.
Finally some cool new features worth mentioning are:
- .setSpyMode [Phone Number]
- .endSpyMode
These commands notify you when your phone is being used, as well as providing you with a list of incoming, outgoing phone numbers. More features are on their way. The only thing I see that could be improved is possibly adding an additional encrypted password to protect your phone in case it is lost. But overall, definitely an android application worth having!
